Since being elected in 2014, it has been a great privilege representing

the residents of the 2nd Ward and at At-Large

 I have decided to return to my roots and run for the open

2nd Ward seat.

I am proud to cite the following accomplishments:

Reduced your property taxes

Banned short term rentals in neighborhoods

Strongly advocated for and voted to institute the two-tier tax program reducing property taxes for Newport residents;

Strongly advocated and worked with staff and RIDOT to implement the safety crosswalk on Memorial Boulevard;

Continuously work with city’s enforcement officers on speeding, parking, noise, health, traffic, lead paint enforcement, and trash concerns

As an Edward King House Senior Board Member, I have championed seniors helping to make the city more livable for all residents

Advocated for the creation of RIPTA/Discover Newport free bus loop –in two summers, 300,000 riders have been provided free transportation throughout the downtown area

Supported and contributed to the creation of the North End Urban Plan 2022 – a blueprint for the creation of jobs, housing and economic development in the North End

Strongly advocated and voted to bring to reality, a new skatepark!

Supported conversion and re-adaptive uses for:

The Armory into the Sailing Hall of Fame;

Gateway Center into and Aquarium and Adult Learning Center;

Sheffield School into Innovate Newport;

Cranston and Calvert schools in needed workforce housing

I have worked to be fair, responsive, and effective.

My experience on the council is essential in this election.
